If you are a new patient we really take the time to get to know you and your mouth.
Even if you have had regular care under another dentist, your new dentist will want to become familiar with your health. This will allow them to recognise changes or problems during future visits.
Typically a check-up involves an external check of the muscles of the face, function of the jaw joint and salivary glands, two X-rays - one on each side of the mouth- a saliva p.H test, and thorough check of each tooth and its surrounding tissue.
Fastbraces ® technology is a safe, easy and fast way to create your perfect smile. Introduced to New Zealand in 2014 this technology has been around for the past 20 years. Fastbraces ® is a tried and true method of straightening teeth over a short amount of time.
In July 2015 Dr Irina Kvatch was the first practitioner in New Zealand to have successfully completed over 20 cases in just 15 months, gaining her the title of Master Affiliate.
Invisalign ® is an innovative way to straighten teeth without the use of metal or wire.
Invisalign ® uses a series of clear, almost invisible, removable aligner trays that gently move teeth to the desired position.
This treatment is most suitable for adults who may feel self conscious about wearing brackets or are conscious of their appearance.

Facial Muscle Relaxation
using injectable Dysport ® and Azzalure ®.
Dysport ®, Azzalure ® are medications used to reduce tension in the chewing muscles and improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines. It is also an excellent treatment for preventing wrinkles. Made from Botulim Toxin Type-A it has been successfully used for decades.
Semi-regular (every 4-6 months) use of Dysport®/Azzalure will soften or prevent wrinkles forming, making you look younger and fresher as well as reducing any tension in the facial muscles caused by tooth grinding or stress.
Muscular Functional Exercises
Muscular Functional Exercises look at the movement and forces applied within the mouth and surrounding tissues to determine the cause of seemingly unrelated problems.
Problems such as snoring, mouth breathing, tooth misalignment, lip separation and sore jaws can be treated or alleviated though the application of specialist muscle training.
If teeth are displaced due to facial muscles working incorrectly a patient may need braces for correction alongside learning how to use the muscles in a more beneficial way.
Central Dental Surgery works with Myoresearch to correct common problems.
Customised Mouth guards
This provides patients with a functional and aesthetically pleasing filling that is formed with their natural tooth colour and shape in mind.
Root Canal Treatment
This treatment helps prolong the tooth's life inside the mouth by removing the infected tissue inside the tooth and replacing it with a stronger, medicinal filling.
Dentures and Plates
Dentures give the freedom to create the perfect smile to suit your face and your mouth.
This technology is used to improve function by stabilising complete (or full) dentures or for replacing individual missing teeth. A mini dental implant is completed with a crown for a natural look.
An implant is made of titanium and is "screwed" into the jaw bone. Although this sounds unpleasant this procedure is less invasive and improves aesthetics and function for suitable candidates at a lower cost compared to conventional implants.
There are several different methods of teeth whitening available at the Central Dental Surgery. They range from take home kits to in-surgery procedures. Contact us to find out what method best suits you and your lifestyle.
